
Eric Yan is the Director of Technology. Since 2012, he has headed the firm’s technology infrastructure, social media, and digital marketing platforms. In 2022, he expanded his responsibilities to greater interaction with Mr. Lechtick on senior level searches and logistics- setting meeting schedules, conference calls and exploratory recruitment discussions.
Mr. Yan has a global perspective and skill-set versatility. He was educated in Hong Kong and the United States and became a permanent resident in 1997. He speaks English, Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese, and limited Spanish.
Previous to Esquire, Eric spent ten years at 75-lawyer Los Angeles law firm which specialized in complex business litigation, class actions and government liability matters. As IT manager, he handled all information technology functions including planned and managed system design, layout, configuration, installation, integration, implementation, and conversion of 150 nodes multi-locations law offices. Successfully completed two separate rollout/migrations.
Before he transitioned into the legal sector, he was the Chief Operating Officer for a national manufacturing company. He oversaw daily operations of the business, including sales/marketing, manufacturing, acquisition, finance, legal, HR and vendors/customers relationships. He led the operation in expansion activities (procurement, investments, acquisitions, and corporate alliances) and managed relationships with partners/vendors and organized and attended industry trade shows and meetings.
Prior to that, he served as a Senior Vice President in a 400-million-dollar asset management firm providing capital and additional financing options to the emerging markets. He oversaw major IT functions including security risk assessment, security policy creation and enforcement, business continuity planning, disaster recovery, project management, budgeting, application support, and business planning. He also created IT policies and procedures, business continuity and disaster recovery plans. Additionally, he reviewed and approved major contracts for computing and information technology services and equipment and assessed new computing technologies to determine potential value for the firm.
Eric and his family currently reside in Orlando Florida. With the expanding responsibilities, consulting assignments and family considerations, he is planning on moving back to Los Angeles. Eric is a devoted “foodie” and loves traveling to new destinations experiencing exotic dishes and their unique cultures.
