Sandy is President and founder of Esquire Inc. With close to four decades experience, Mr. Lechtick has either personally represented or supervised the placement of more than 4,000 executives and attorneys. Since Nov. 1976, when he started his first placement firm, he has been recognized as one of the top search professionals in California.
After 15 years of owning and running two Top Ten Los Angeles executive search firms, he spun of the legal search division and founded Esquire in 1991. Since then he and his firm have devoted 100% of their focus to the legal sector- private practice and corporate-in house placements. Sandy has facilitated more than two dozen law firm mergers and major practice group acquisitions and handled some of the most significant partner transactions in California. He and his team have opened up new offices of national firms in Silicon Valley, San Francisco, Sacramento, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Tucson, Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles and Orange County.
Sandy is extensively quoted and has authored almost twenty articles in legal and business publications including: Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journal, California Law Business, California Extra, The Recorder, Los Angeles Business Magazine and American Lawyer. Most of the articles and inquiries from reporters deal with law firm economic and management issues, rainmakers and partners on the move, compensation issues and trends in the marketplace.
Sandy has been retained as an expert witness by several leading law firms including: Sheppard Mullin; Littler Mendelson; Glaser, Weil; Lewis Brisbois and other firms. He has testified in litigation and employment matters pertaining to: loss of income and general compensation, various practice areas, job hunting, general market trends and related. He has moderated panels for the National Association of Legal Search Consultants involving many of the top law firm partners in California. His most notable round table included managing partners or the top rainmaker from DLA; Irell & Manella; Quinn Emanuel and Allen Matkins.
Before he started Esquire, Sandy was a founder and Vice-President of a 55 recruiter full service executive search firm and then founder and President of a 29 recruiter search firm. Both specialized in placing engineers, middle-market and upper level executives in the technology, semiconductor, computer, aerospace/defense, medical devices and life sciences arena.
