Dear Sandy:
Thank you for doing such an outstanding job in representing me to Greenberg
Traurig. When we first got together, I was amazed at how well you knew my own
firm, never mind the overall market. From the get-go, I liked your candor and
practical attitude--it's quite unlike the usual pushy "get a fee at any cost"
headhunter style, and very refreshing. In addition, your insights on the pros
and cons of different firms were very helpful. You displayed an intuitive grasp
of my career objectives, and your skill in identifying the opportunities that
were most compatible with my financial and practice goals was invaluable.
As you know, when I started this process, headhunters were coming out of the
woodwork, and in most instances I didn't even take their calls. You forced me to
focus and take stock of my career at a time when that action was critical. As a
result, I probably looked closely at eight or nine major firms and had extensive
discussions with four or five of them. The fact that I chose Greenberg from a
number of potential opportunities is in no small part to your efforts, and this
was unquestionably the best opportunity for my career --it's as much a testament
to your matchmaking skills as it is your tenacity.
Thanks again for all your efforts and playing a key role in furthering my
career--working with you has been a pleasure. I'd like to say that I look
forward to working with you again, but the truth is I'm thrilled with Greenberg
and expect to end my career here. I would recommend you highly to any partner
thinking of advancing his or her career.
Sincerely,
Jack McBride
