About Us

"There are a handful of headhunting firms that  stand above the rest in both Northern and Southern California .... Esquire is one of those firms".
(California Law Business, September 1998).

"Esquire...one of the top 10 legal search firms in California"
(Daily Journal, February, 2001)

In addition to our normal search activities, we also educate attorneys on their options, commensurate compensation levels (and/or book), where they stand in the market, and how to effectively showcase their credentials without inflating books of business. We tailor cover letters geared toward the needs of the candidate, but designed to gain an audience. We streamline, modify and on occasion rewrite resumes. We will never send a resume, cover letter or identify a candidate unless we receive explicit permission from the candidate to do so.

Under no circumstances will we breach confidentiality. In many cases we assist attorneys in developing a strategic game plan and identify opportunities that meet these objectives. Since many of our clients are not in an "active job search mode," we help guide them through the emotional issues as well as the subtle nuances of the job maze.

While many headhunters are good talkers, most are poor listeners. Aggressive listening helps us to not only understand our client's specific needs, aspirations and career objectives, but articulate our client's search requirements. The "square peg in round hole" approach employed by some of our competitors is the antithesis of our approach.
