Greenberg Traurig Grows LA Corporate Practice, Adds Jack McBride

LOS ANGELES ‐ International law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP further strengthened its corporate and securities practice group with the addition of John “Jack” C.

McBride as a shareholder in the firm’s Los Angeles office. Prior to joining Greenberg Traurig McBride was a partner at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP.

McBride brings a great deal of experience in corporate law and finance, with a particular emphasis on the entertainment and media industry. He has handled a wide range of major transactions from high‐level mergers and acquisitions to joint ventures and financings, including acting as entertainment counsel to NBC in its acquisition of Universal Pictures, and acting as entertainment counsel to Sony in its acquisition of MGM.

Prior to joining Katten, McBride served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Loews Cineplex Entertainment Corporation, one the of the world’s largest motion picture exhibition companies.

Prior to Loews, McBride spent eight years at Sony Pictures Entertainment, where he represented the company in its major worldwide transactions. He was responsible for closing a wide range of tax advantaged and other financings (including the first of the German financings that swept Hollywood), establishment of the Game Show Network, closing the first foreign TV co‐production deal in China, the acquisition of motion picture and TV show libraries, and the negotiation of long‐term pay TV and pay‐per‐view movie output agreements.
